Map Your Love
Our map showcases real, authentic queer stories from around the world. Participants add their perspectives on key topics, such as where they saw their first queer film, or where they shared their first kiss, and tag it to the corresponding location on the map. Over time, these responses evolve new conversations and discussions, developing an intimate network of queer storytelling and connection. These conversations may even spark ideas for films and other creative projects by the 75 SHOTS community.
Through this initiative, we are creating a space for queer people to anonymously share their stories and interact with others like themselves both nearby and across the world. We invite you to take a journey through the map and share your own experiences. You can write as many or as few words as you wish to, or upload a photo, a video, or an audio clip. Commenting on existing posts is encouraged, with whatever connections or responses come to mind. This is a living, interactive safe space for collaborative creation.
Our Map Your Love project ties into our short film anthology of the same name. With a dozen filmmakers from ten countries across the Global South, we revealed and connected intimate stories of resilience, joy, struggles, and triumphs. Due to safety concerns of the creators living in countries where homosexuality is criminalized, the films in this anthology are only shown in safe spaces at private in-person events. Map Your Love is a non linear anthology filmed entirely on smartphones by a dozen emerging filmmakers across ten countries in the Global South. It showcases deeply personal stories that explore the complexities of queer love, identity, and resilience in nations where homosexuality is criminalized. Each film offers a unique and poignant narrative, capturing the struggles and triumphs of queer individuals as they navigate oppressive societal structures.
Through intimate storytelling, Map Your Love presents powerful meditations on themes such as self-acceptance, familial bonds, and the pursuit of freedom, revealing the hidden emotional landscapes and psychological battles endured by those whose love is forbidden. From the resilience of a trans man to the existential reflections of a child questioning their origins, these films provide a moving portrayal of love’s capacity to transcend fear, shame, and rejection, giving voice to those silenced by oppressive regimes.
