Why It Matters
Across the globe, LGBTQ+ people face harassment, censorship, exile, and imprisonment. In these environments, cinema becomes more than art, it becomes a lifeline, a coded message, a survival strategy, and a radical act of love.
Under the Radar exists to showcase powerful, often hidden films that speak to the complexities of queerness, identity, race, resilience, and freedom.

These pop-up events take place in undisclosed locations. To protect both artists and attendees, you must sign up to be invited. We strictly enforce a no-filming, no-recording policy to ensure privacy and safety, especially for participants who face real-life threats due to their identity or creative work. Through intimate gatherings rooted in trust, compassion, and courage, we reclaim public space as a site of resistance, healing, and connection.

What We Showcase
We are dedicated to highlighting the strength, creativity, and resilience of courageous LGBTQ+ storytellers originally from the Global South, especially those working under censorship, criminalization, or forced displacement. Through inspiring and often suppressed stories, we program independent queer films that are frequently silenced or overlooked altogether.
All languages are welcome; however, English or French subtitles are required.​
